WE ARE MAKE - your emotional resilience toolkit
Making for your wellbeing
👉Updates
🤩We are redefining ourselves. After having super insightful chats with our users, we realised that they explain MAKE as a service of different tools to build their emotion vocabulary. We decided to adopt their language, and we moved from “translating emotions into visual language” to “your emotional resilience toolkit”.
We want to introduce you to MAKE, your emotional resilience toolkit that help you build emotional resilience over time.
📣Shout out to the London School of Economics. We are elated to have secured a partnership with them. On top of that, we were granted 💰to fund a research project to refine the effectiveness of our methodology.
Just like the LSE, you can also back us up with your precious time, capital or meaningful connections with collaborators interested in improving emotional intelligence in young adults & using tech (AR&VR) to encourage social good.
💡Learnings
🕳️ + 👾 We are using mixed reality (real + virtual world) to provide a safe space or a safe portal when our users need it. Since we are an on-demand tool, we want to make sure that young adults feel safe while sharing or interacting with their emotions.
📽️ Show&Tell video. Since April, we started our Show&Tell sessions. We found them incredibly rewarding because we can share to a bigger audience our latest updates and have your feedback on MAKE.
Here our first video (from April 5th). You’ll not see just how MAKE has evolved but, how the Zinc team has refined their recording skills through time 😂
We'll be sharing the following videos on the future newsletters. (e.g. Newsletter #7 will come with the video from April 18th)

😮Rana el Kaliouby the Cambridge Computer Scientist that unlocked a $20bn market using AI to understand emotions.
Her video is about how Affectiva (her company) is using machine learning to understand our emotions through facial expressions (10 min. watch)
🤔And on this article, they explain that the theory (that Affectiva’s model is based on) “referred to as the classical theory of emotions” is outdated, questioning the efficacy of Affectiva. (10 min read)
*MAKE’s theory is based on the post-classical theory of emotions by Dr. Lisa Feldman Barret😉*
As part of our movement, we encourage positive imagery; therefore, will be posting beautiful images for your eye candy. (know more about the photo)
