WE ARE MAKE - translating emotions into visual language
Making for your wellbeing
This week has flown away 🌪️ London is sunny☀️and tomorrow is Holiday 🌈
great reasons to enjoy the weather and being grateful.
👉Updates
1.- MAKE goes public. Yesterday we had our second Show&Tell - a 3min presentation where we present our latest updates. These run on a fortnightly basis and all the 18 portfolio companies present. (great opportunity to get inspired by my uber intelligent peers and more importantly find ways to support us)
We look forward to seeing you there; please register here 🙋
2.- MAKE is a company. April 12th, 2019 is our day and we are thrilled to share it with you. We have had ups and downs and the journey has been pretty much like being blindfolded on a rollercoaster without foreseeing what is coming… pretty much like life itself. 🤩 We want to thank everyone who has been involved so far, your help & advice has been of an incredible value for us to be here now.
3.- BETA testing- We are still working on the development of the product and focusing on our beta testing. For the ones that haven’t signed up for this, here is the link https://www.beamaker.co/signup
💡Learnings
Relief by making.
1.- We are focused on “making”; keep you active and MOVE.
According to neuroscientist and behavioural experts:
the simplest approach to [regulate your affective feelings] is to move your body. All animals use motions to regulate their body budgets… Humans are unique in that we can regulate the budget without moving, using purely mental concepts. But when this skill fails you, remember that you too are an animal. Get up and move around, even if you don’t feel like it. (source)
Sometimes when we face a situation in which our emotions get complicated, it is better for us to move, go for a walk to rebalance the chemicals in our brain.
2.- Our goal- to increase your emotional literacy.
Emotional intelligence is four times more important than IQ in determining professional success and prestige (Feist & Barron, 1996 cited in Cherniss, 2000).
We are honing into one of the roots of the problem, having a low emotional intelligence. Not having a very well polished/practiced/exercised emotional intelligence decreases your chances to be better in life. It is like having a blunt tool to cut your way through life, mainly it won’t be as efficient as it should be.
