WE ARE MAKE- gamifying art & emotions to increase emotional intelligence.
👉Updates
#1 MAKE helps teenagers develop their emotional intelligence by empowering their creativity for improved work, life and social outcomes.
What do we mean by emotional intelligence?
According to the psychologists Mayer and Salovey emotional intelligence is "the ability to monitor one's own […] emotions, to discriminate between different emotions and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior"
Therefore, at MAKE we are using a 3 step methodology:
1.- Recognise the emotion
2.- Label the emotion
3.- Express the emotion
#2 🎉This coming week we will be working on the design of the product, hopefully very soon we can share it with you for beta testing.
#3 ✨We are running another workshop this coming Friday at the National Citizen Service, a non-for-profit organisation helping teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do. Our objective is to guide our users through our 3-step methodology. Will share our findings on our next newsletter.
Wish us good vibes!
💡Learnings
#1 Today we ran a design thinking workshop at the Royal Free Hospital School with 16-year-olds who have missed school through illness, mainly emotional. The task was, through the design thinking methodology, to design a devise that will help them recognise and label an emotion.
Ideation phase:
Prototyping:
At the end of the session, the students shared that the worst part of the workshop was that it was over; and that they enjoyed so much the design process and loved to learn how to do it.
#2 The surveys are still on 🔴 - https://melisal.typeform.com/to/NNt7Yg
